Job Description

Operate and maintain the shrink-wrap machine safely, following all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
Perform machine startups and shutdowns according to established protocols: conduct pre‑operation inspections, power on and off in sequence, adjust settings (temperature, speed, tension), allow temperature to drop below ~60 °C before switching off, and clean equipment afterward .
Monitor machine performance during operation, watching for unusual noises, alarms, overheating, or static film issues; troubleshoot promptly using manufacturer guidelines to minimize downtime, and log any incidents and corrective actions .
Inspect labeling or film-wrapped products regularly for misalignment, wrinkles, seal gaps, film tears, “angel hair,” fish-eyes, or other defects; remove and reprocess noncompliant items.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning conveyors, rollers, heat tunnels, and sealing elements; lubricate moving parts; inspect sensors, electrical wiring, guards, and belts; and report major malfunctions or parts needing replacement. Always lock out power and allow components to cool before reaching inside .
Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work area: keep walkways clear, use non‑slip mats where needed, ensure adequate lighting, and control static buildup by grounding machines .
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times—such as gloves, safety glasses, protective clothing, safety footwear, bump hats or hard hats—and routinely inspect PPE for damage
Ensure safety guards, interlocks, emergency stops, and signage are functional and accessible; do not bypass safety devices
Follow lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance or cleaning, and confirm electrical circuits are de‑energized and fuses intact before servicing .
Manage environmental safety by avoiding operation in high humidity or flammable atmospheres, ensuring proper ventilation, and keeping approved fire extinguishers nearby .
