Job Description

Responsible for the P&L of the business and for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual targets as per the Annual Business Plan.
Review and approve commercial credit proposals while maintaining a balanced approach between returns and risk exposure. Define credit exposure limits based on financial assessments.
Lead a team of credit approvers and collections personnel to ensure a high standard of credit quality across the portfolio by utilizing various credit assessment tools.
Engage in the development, implementation, review, and monitoring of various credit programs, and provide training and coaching to continuously enhance the competencies of team members.
Review and develop credit approval policies and guidelines, and participate in ad hoc investigative or troubleshooting projects related to specific customer portfolios.
Ensure debt recovery procedures are fully effective and that all available recovery options are utilized to maximize recovery outcomes. Handle any critical credit control situations.
Monitor the credit granting process, ensuring consistent application of the credit policy, periodic reviews of existing customers, and assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers. Aim to optimize the balance between sales and bad debt losses.
Oversee all business-related administrative matters of MOFCLs, including secretarial, statutory, legal functions, branch management, and working capital efficiency measures.
Implement and utilize proper systems and processes for loan assessment, disbursement, and collections.
Ensure compliance with company policies and timely submission of various weekly and monthly reports and data to management and credit bureaus, in accordance with banking regulations.
Liaise with auditors, head office, and statutory agencies on financial matters, ensuring adherence to all Bank of Tanzania (BOT) guidelines.
Maintain a departmental organizational structure that supports all goals and objectives, and measure performance using appropriate metrics.
